Provide your feedback to help shape the UM student experience

Check your UM email, complete the NSSE survey for a chance to win.

Join the hundreds of first- and final-year undergraduate students who have already taken part in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Your feedback will help shape the future of student life and experience on campus.
 

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The survey helps the University of Manitoba plan and institute new initiatives for students to make your experience even more positive. The information gathered in the last survey in 2023 helped to bring about a number of outcomes that students will benefit from for years to come, including:

  • The Student Wellness Centre—a welcoming space to study, relax, connect with peers and access supports.
    The Connection Desk at Fort Garry—helping students navigate campus and find resources.
  • Expanded supports at the Bannatyne campus, including a Multi faith Centre and bi-weekly in person international student advising.
  • The Tony T.K. Lau International Student Lounge—a hub for community building and events for international students.
  • The Social Justice Hub— providing students a safer space to connect across identities and engage in hands on training and learning in social justice and community organizing.

The 15 largest Canadian research-intensive universities also participate in the survey allowing UM to measure its responses against those of similar-sized institutions. The large scale of the survey enables UM to connect with counterparts across the country to share best practices and discuss trends emanating from the survey results.

Deadlines and draw prizes

All students who complete the survey by April 7, will be automatically entered into a draw and have the chance to win:

  • one $1000 cash prize
  • one of three $250 prizes
  • one of five $100 UM Bookstore gift certificates
  • or one of ten $50 UM Bookstore gift certificates. 

There is an additional early-bird draw for a $500 prize for those who complete the survey before March 25.

Links to complete the survey were sent to UM students in the last two weeks. Check your UM email to complete the survey and have a chance to win one of the prizes. 

The final deadline to complete the survey is May 11.
