Apply now: scholarships open to all UM students

St John's College is now accepting scholarship applications open to all University of Manitoba students.

Every year, St John's College gives out over $200,000 in scholarships, bursaries and prizes to University of Manitoba students. We are now accepting applications until June 1st at 4:30 PM for current UM students and July 15th at 4:30 PM for incoming UM students.

How do I become eligible?

To be eligible, you must declare St John's College membership by the application deadline. Please note that any membership declarations made between March and June may experience delays in appearing on your file, as the Registrar's Office must manually process College Declarations. Graduates and students who change faculties may need to re-register as members.

Each scholarship has its own unique requirements ranging from financial need, minimum Grade Point Averages and community involvement.

What's the difference between Scholarships and Bursaries?

  • Scholarships are usually based on academic performance, taking into account your field of study and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
  • Bursaries are based primarily on financial need, though other factors are also taken into consideration such as community-involvement.

Final scholarship workshop of the academic year

Our next and final scholarship workshop is taking place on April 16th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Sherry Peters, Registrar and Awards Clerk, will be taking you through the application process step by step and can answer all of your burning questions!
