The new publication provides a platform for thoughtful learning, critical inquiry, principled conversations and deliberate calls for action.
A new journal has been launched, dedicated to the advancement of research, theory, practice and understanding of peace and justice issues.
The Arthur V. Mauro Institute for Peace and Justice at St. Paul’s College announced the inaugural issue of the International Journal for Peace and Justice.
The creation of the peer-reviewed open-access scholarly journal represents a major step in the development of the Mauro Institute.
IJPJ provides a platform to research, promote, share and discuss various aspects of peace and justice. International in scope, IJPJ will include articles from scholars and practitioners in anthropology, humanities, peace and conflict studies, political science, psychology, leadership studies, sociology, religion and kindred disciplines throughout the world.
Above all, IJPJ intends to be a brave space that encourages thoughtful learning, critical inquiry, principled conversations and deliberate calls for action.
The launch could not have occurred without the financial support of the Arthur V. Mauro Family, St. Paul’s College Foundation, and the University of Manitoba. Through the dedicated work of Dr. Stan Amaladas, the director of the Mauro Institute, this venture has been realized.
Thanks are also due to the authors of the first issue, support from the University of Manitoba’s Peace and Conflict Studies Program, as well as UM Libraries.
Moving forward, IJPJ welcomes scholarly manuscripts such as empirical, theoretical, reflective articles and book reviews from scholars and practitioners who are dedicated to researching, educating, and promoting peace and justice.
Read the inaugural issue of IJPJ, themed "Fostering Hope in a Divided World."
