The University of Manitoba Security Services is committed to keeping our campus community safe and informed.
We’re excited to announce recent updates to the UMSafe App and our emergency notification system—making it easier than ever to receive real-time alerts during emergencies.
You can now receive emergency alerts through:
These options supplement existing alerts within the UMSafe App and to your official UM email address.
Existing users:
To receive alerts on additional devices, you must opt in. Simply open the UMSafe App and tap the red banner at the bottom of the main screen labeled ‘Alert Notification System Registration’. From there, add your preferred mobile number, landline, and/or personal email.
New users:
Download the UMSafe App. After installation, be sure to register your preferred communication method(s) through the ‘Alert Notification System Registration’ banner so you never miss a critical update.
All UM email addresses are automatically included and do not require additional registration.
Emergencies can happen at any time. Receiving timely and accurate information is key to keeping yourself and others safe. The UMSafe App is your direct link to critical campus-wide alerts from UM Security Services.
