November marks Entrepreneurship and Innovative Thinking (EIT) Month at the University of Manitoba, bringing the UM community together to celebrate entrepreneurship, foster collaboration and explore how innovative thinking can help turn ideas into action.

Throughout the month, students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to take part in events that showcase new ideas, encourage knowledge sharing, and highlight the many ways entrepreneurship contributes to learning, research and community impact.

Exploring ideas, building connections and advancing innovation

From a pop-up market and student pitch competition to the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization Summit and Indigenous Student Winter Showcase, EIT Month offers opportunities to discover emerging ventures, support local entrepreneurs and celebrate the creativity and leadership of UM’s entrepreneurial community. Webinars and a faculty symposium will also explore practical approaches to business development and ways to integrate entrepreneurial thinking into teaching, research, collaboration and commercialization.

EIT Month coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week and International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, connecting UM’s activities with a global conversation about entrepreneurship, opportunity and innovation.

While November provides a focal point for celebrating and advancing entrepreneurial thinking, support for innovation at UM continues throughout the year. A range of programs, services and campus partners help students, faculty and researchers develop ideas, build entrepreneurial capabilities, and explore pathways to bring their work into the world within a cohesive ecosystem.
