I hope you had a great summer! September 9 marks the first day of classes for many students at UM and we can’t wait to welcome you!
As you get ready for Fall Term, here are a few updates to help you plan your commute and navigate the Fort Garry campus.
Road construction
Roadwork on and around the Fort Garry campus may affect your commute, including construction on Dysart Road, University Crescent, Pembina Highway, Abinojii Mikanah and Kings Drive. Please expect delays and plan ahead. Allow for an additional 15 to 30 minutes on average.

Winnipeg Transit
Winnipeg Transit’s fall schedule begins September 6. Before travelling to campus, check your route and schedule:
When planning a trip with Navigo, make sure you input a date after September 6 to see the fall schedule.
All students registered for classes in the Fall term will have unlimited access to Winnipeg Transit through the U-Pass, unless you have manually opted out. To avoid long line-ups, don’t wait for the first day to pick up your U-Pass… they are available NOW at the UMSU Service Centre at Fort Garry Campus or Answers at the Bannatyne Campus.
The U-Pass is administered by UMSU, so please direct any inquiries to U-Pass@umsu.ca or check out their website.
Getting around campus
Take a few minutes to find your classrooms before your first day using UM’s interactive campus maps. The maps are also useful for locating student services, food, washrooms, parking, and more! Use the drop-down menu to navigate between the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses.
